My name is Dr. Ajitpaul Mangat.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Niagara University, where I am also a member of the Rose Bente Lee Ostapenko Center for Ethics in Medicine and Healthcare.

I received my Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo SUNY.

My research and teaching focus on the intersection of disability and race in contemporary American literature and art. I am particularly interested in how
literature and art formalize emergent social relations of solidarity.

I am serving during the 2024-2025 academic year as a contributing writer for Synapsis - a
digital health humanities journal at the intersection of medicine, culture, and criticism
